Why pay when you can get paid?

Because there are non-financial considerations? I mean, obviously it’s best to have someone else pay. In my last case, I requested an internal transfer to another country country. I wasn’t really in the position to demand relocation expenses.

  • However, what use are my 5 weeks of vacation if I spend half of them going back home?

Well, 10 days of vacation in the US would solve that dilemma :(

Do you have French citizenship? Or would a return to the US be kind of permanent? Is your partner American?

Keep in mind that your friends and family have all aged a few years as well so if you’re missing your early college vibes, you’re not going to find them again.

Where would you go in the US? What are your realistic salary expectations? Before you left, where you adulting already or still on your parent’s insurance and stuff like that?

  • What exactly did you expect to get out of your IEC experience? Generally people on working holiday visas make just enough to live in the some interesting place for a while. Like, living in a van in Whistler would fucking suck… But you do it for a season to party and ski because you’re 23 and not trying to save for retirement yet.

What field are you in? Which city? Why did you choose that city? How much money do you have?
