1 year agoI wanted to pop in to say A Little Life took me about 350 pages to finally get hooked. It took me 2 weeks to get to that point, because I just couldn’t get into it—the author is very detailed, and I typically dislike that. I mean, seriously, early on one paragraph touches 3 pages! After that though, I finished the last 450ish pages in about 2 days, because it consumed my every thought. Once you get about halfway through, you start realizing all the details about these guys’ lives draws you into the story even more. Keep pushing through! For that reason, it is also the book I think about on an almost daily basis.
I want to echo this. I finished A Little Life a couple weeks ago and I’ve never experienced the feeling of “I wish I could read that book for the first time again” like I have with this book. I keep trying to read other books, but I put them down, because I’m still thinking about A Little Life.
