That can definitely happen in the base game. Just have to position to fight fewer enemies at once.

The 30 - 40 years part is key. You need to support them for a generation. You need to let the remnants of the old power structure get old and die. The country has to be full of people that were raised with the benefits of the new government.
You can look at Japan for a great example of this type of success.
Dark Knight, Fury Road, and… Hellboy 2019.
I feel like Hellboy is a hot take. It bombed and even other Hellboy fans seem to hate it.
Daemons aren’t really physical beings. They are the essence of something. They are dreams and passions given life as spiritual creatures. They might wear a physical form for a little while when they enter real space, but that body isn’t really who they are.
Angron can’t lose his nails because they’re a part of who he is. They are a symbol of what it means to be Angron. It’s the same reason Mortarion still wears a gas mask, or Perturabo still has armor.
He might even still hate the nails and want them removed. But that’s just because hating the nails is part of who he is.
Sometimes we’ll see a daemon permanently changed. They’ll be scarred by a wound or lose a possession. But those changes are always heavy with symbolism. Just killing a daemon isn’t enough to cause those changes. It comes about when they are defeated by a holy champion, or trade away some power for influence. Maybe Vashtor/Angron/Khorne could remove those nails, but it would represent a fundamental change to the core of Angron as an idea.
This is my favorite movie. I own it in almost every format. I have the NES game complete in box, and I don’t even own an NES.
I’m a little heartbroken, but I’m also curious if there is a way to get part of the tree.
There are lots of fun ideas in this space. I’ll think about lanterns first.
A lantern that reveals a person’s inner emotions.
A lantern that casts darkness instead of light.
A lantern that never goes out or won’t set things on fire.
A lantern that illuminates the way home.
A lantern that makes footprints glow.
Floating lantern
A lantern that glows brighter in the presence of goblins or undead.
A lantern that can use any liquid for fuel. Any. Liquid.
A lantern powered by a captive fairy.
A lantern that glows when magic is being cast nearby.
A lantern that makes light which certain species can’t see.
A lantern that can use a rare fuel to make light as bright as daylight.
A lantern that is haunted by an annoying yet loyal poltergeist.
Lantern Genie.
A lantern powered by singing.
A lantern that can accompany a performer by casting shadow puppets to visualize their song or story.
A lantern which casts shadows that can be physically harmed. Stab the shadow, hurt the victim.
A lantern which reveals a very specific illusion, like the hidden door to a secret hideout.
A lantern which let’s you read any language that it is illuminating.
A ghost busters lantern that can slurp up evil spirits after they have been weakened.
A lantern thatbplays music instead of casting light when you use it.
A lantern which causes synesthesia for those that see its light.
Go to a small local jeweler. They can often make you something custom for much less than the price of a chain store. They’ll also be able to walk you through all the options and advantages of each. If you’re having trouble finding that little mom and pop spot, Google jewelry repair. 9 out of 10 of those businesses will be more than happy to take on your project.
