Lowburn@lemmy.worldOPto pics@lemmy.world•In November of 2022, I photographed this tree amidst some fog while traveling in Shenandoah National Park. I captured the same image without fog in October of 2023. Here's a side-by-side. [OC]English3·2 years agoOnce you get into the woods the fog is substantially less. Not sure why. Here’s a picture from that morning’s hike taken on the Whiteoak Canyon Falls Upper Trail: https://lemmy.world/post/3812709

He was totally watching my every move as I opened the window and started snapping. That’s why I love this pic. He’s staring straight into the lens! I was ~20 ft. away with my telephoto 😃

Lowburn@lemmy.worldto pics@lemmy.world•Week 9: Congratulations to LowBurn for Their Pic of the WeekEnglish3·2 years agoOh wow! Thanks for the kudos… I’m humbled! Glad this seasonal composite resonated with folks :)
I’ll kick it off: Lesotho group 80 (Community Health and Economic Development) from 2013-2015
- Some of the grassroots projects I started in my village are still functioning today. By that metric it was certainly successful.
- I didn’t even know what Lesotho was when I got my invite. Needless to say, it’s an absolutely beautiful part of the world and I consider it a 2nd home now.
- Almost daily. I have two very close friends and we keep in touch on Whatsapp. I also returned in 2019 for a vacation/reunion and plan to do so every 5 years.

Thanks for the kind words. Indeed I was quite pleased with how this one turned out. Right after a substantial rainfall too
