The sweet spot is usually around 1.6-1.75 x normal speed for me (1.75 for something like Pride & Prejudice; a book I know very well and is usually narrated at a sedate pace).
People are fascinating aren’t they?
I have to stop myself from re-reading/re-watching things too often, rather than pushing myself to do so!
I’ve re-read Pride and Prejudice twice so far this year and re-watched the film, and I’ve been trying to resist re-watching the BBC series (6 episodes, 1 hour each) too!
I have also had to stop myself re-watching Ted Lasso, Ghosts (UK), The Good Place, and many other series, just because I have so many books/films/series to watch for the first time on my list that I’ll never get round to them.
