10 months agoThe Way of Zen by Alan W Watts.
It was a comprehensive and optimistic presentation of a radically different way of approaching life. I read it when I was starting to struggle with schoolwork in the early nineties, when I was about 17. The possibilities it suggested were both comforting and intoxicating.
I later came to appreciate that discussing the way, and actually pursuing it, were two very different things. Nonetheless, it was my first step into a larger world.
