1 year agoIt depends how proficient you are in the original language. If you are completely fluent then it’s best to read that. There can be word play that doesn’t translate well etc.
But if you struggle to read the original language then there’s little point in reading it unless you want to improve that language and you should read the translation. There could be word play that doesn’t translate well etc.
It truly doesn’t matter. Reading is supposed be fun.
Off the top of my head, Vanity Fair. It’s long and it’s a classic. It’s also a great book. Possibly one of my favourites. Certainly, my favourite classic.
