91·11 days agoThis is a bad faith argument. Search engines are notoriously bad to find rare specialized information and usually return empty search results for too specific requests. Moreover you need the exact keywords while LLMs use embeddings to find similar meanings

2·11 days agoPackages on Ubuntu was why I had to move. I had issues daily and each time I looked it was actually fixed but not available in the distro. It was especially amnoying for development where I had to manually compile newer versions. Snap being forced while being outdated as well was also part of it.

282·11 days agoIt’s very stable, but outdated imo, especially its default desktop environnement. Kinda makes linux look like a weird old windows clone, while other desktops can be very modern and way prettier than Windows

2·15 days agoAn actually good answer.
But what I disagree with is that the word race being used by racists is justified to call random people racists. I do not use it personally anyway

61·15 days agoAs you said racism is the belief that races exist AND that they should be hierarchized. It is true that the genetic diversity is too big in the race groups for it to be biological races, so the word usually is a synonym for way too big ethnic groups.
Thus using “race” is biologically ambiguous and “ethnic groups” should be preferred, however it is still very well socially defined. Using “race” in a social context makes sense and is far from being racist.
Saying “black people are discriminated” is a talk about race not ethnic group. “Black people” is not an ethnic group, it has hundred of ethnic groups and some ethnic groups are mixed race.

54·17 days agoRight now Android is a significantly better experience on touch screens like phones and tablets. And that would still hold for 2-in-1 laptops. Same for TVs and home consoles, better designed for remote/gamepad control.
Support is developing though and as we get more touch friendly and gamepad friendly linux, we get more PC friendly android, including non wall-gardened forks.

You can on nearly all distros
