I haven’t explored very much what I’ll do but I want to be able to play Minecraft on my laptop (which it crashes now when I load it). I’m also getting a 1660 GPU for the server to transcode to the laptop.
I also want my laptop to not run out of RAM when using Chrome so I will VM from the server.
I’d like to run my storage.
That’s a nice case. I already bought my case and I’m glad I’ve got it. I’ve just got to modify a bookshelf so it can fit. It’s not too close to where I sit so the noise might not be an issue.
More drive bays would have been good! I’ll have to get some extra bays to put in my case.
The 2.5" drives are what I already have. I don’t have a lot of storage requirements yet so new HDDs will be for later. Thanks for the tip.
Oh my! I didn’t read the motherboard spec properly. Thanks for that!
It looks like I can only use one RAM slot at 3200Mhz anyway. Would it be worth going down to 2667Mhz RAM to retain ECC? If I can find that kind of RAM.

I will probably get a GPU.
Yes I’d like to use ZFS and TrueNas. I’m not sure if I should use Scale or Core. I’d like to use my server for many tasks.
What do you mean by real ECC support? With hardware or software?
