  • I live in Northern Canada, very very cold in winter for small dogs, but got my Youkie and Chihuahua in December of different years. I pee pad trained them in front of the door in the winter, then when snow stared melting moved their pee pads a few steps outside of the house and the nicer it got the further the pee pads were from the outside door. To the yard. Then just take the pads away and they just pee pee and poo poo outside. It has worked for me, and is not rocket science. And before anyone says anything I did have to live in a high rise condo for 2 years, they would ask for the door to go out, and never poopooed or peeped in the house other Thant the time I was caught in a snowstorm getting back home and it took me 47 hours to get there. Still they had de decency to relieve themselves in the bathroom on ceramic tiles right next to the toilet……
