Because they were actively investigating it. I’m not going to say they did a great job but releasing stuff to the public to create a witch hunt isn’t the ideal. Neither is just not going after these people.

PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•NVIDIA GTX 750 Ti is resurrected with 8GB VRAM - and this ancient GPU even runs some modern games smoothlyEnglish
4·8 hours agoThe person mentioned in the article bought it like that. This wasn’t practice, they spend $200 on an old ass modified card instead of paying the same amount for a newer and better card with the same outputs and ram. It’s stupid.

Canada@lemmy.ca•Canada Signs Military MOU With U.A.E. As It Backs Sudan Massacres
2·8 hours agoJust because things don’t happen the way you want them to doesn’t mean it isnt politics.
Edit: this next part is only loosely realted to this discussion but… I recently had a discussion like this with a coworker. He had the idea that he was a-political and was just enjoying “watching the show” and then would spout political opinions that he didn’t recognize as such. For example, Ukraine got brought up and he said he didn’t care about xyz because [both sides-ism] and Ukraine probably did something to instigate it. Finally after that I decided to butt in every time he took a political stance and remind him that (for example) Ukraine not being entirely innocent IS in fact a political stance.

19·21 hours agobut it’s hardly what you’d call a viable proposition - not at the $198 paid for the modded GPU
Ya. A used 3050 is cheaper than that, still has 8 outputs and 8gb of VRAM. Its cool to see this done as a hobby project but it sounds like this guy just bought it as is, so what’s the point?

USA | United states of America@lemmy.ca•People Are Realizing What Comes Next in This Country... And Americans Are Furious
2·22 hours agoThere was at least one other gardener saying something similar before I stopped watching. Then in the comment section there were people discussing having the exact same problems.
It really makes me wonder. I’m not in the USA and I don’t follow gardening things but it sounds too weird an ominous to be real. Is there something in the water? Is this maybe some conspiracy fueled by AI videos? It would have been nice if the lady that put this together could have at least noted each channel this came from as they came up so we could look into some of them.
Also, dude saying that he refused to pay taxes and “CPP”… as in “Canadian Pension Plan” and the lady saying to not pay your credit cards? Yikes.
I think it’s mainly you. I don’t use much salt in cooking but sometimes its necessary and actually does bring out flavor.
Maybe you have too much salt and this is just your body rejecting it? I tried doing a few multi day fasts a while ago and everyone talks about how you need salt so I was consuming salty drinks with mio to mask it and it was aweful. Then (on someone’s fecommendation) I stopped doing that and instead waited a while then just ate a pinch of salt… tasted great. When my body wanted it, it was taaty; when my body didn’t want it, it was gross.

102·5 days ago“Lost the popular vote” is commonly understood to mean they aren’t the party with the most votes. The conservatives were unarguably the party with the most votes. They won the popular vote.
Im not a fan of this outcome either but don’t try to spin the results by redefining terms.

21·6 days agoExport tarrifs is a sketchy game to start playing. We still buy a bunch of food and other important stuff from the USA. I try not to, but I wouldnt want to impact food security.
Maybe the people selling tge specialized stuff to farmers just increase their price for Americans. This is definitely a situation where we the individuals have the collective power to fuck them.

Canada@lemmy.ca•Carney Wants the Power to Break Strikes. Unions Vow to Defy Him
17·7 days agoThe rail strike was absolutely ridiculous. CP and CN absolutely colluded to create that and the government did absolutely noting to seperate the strikes or hold them accountable.
Also don’t forget, CN and CP LOCKED OUT the union. Also they stopped shipping any new dangerous goods weeks before the lockout to make sure that those that relied on DG shipments to power generators in Quebec and clean their municipal water supplies would be loosing their shit on day one of the lockout. They also posted messaging warning people about potential unsafe drinking water if the lockout went on too long.

Vancouver@lemmy.ca•Number of people bitten by rabid skunk in downtown Vancouver: officials
7·8 days agoHe said a number of people were looking into the bushes nearby, and that’s when he saw the animal, which looked lethargic and confused.
“I just started talking to the skunk because I’m an animal person. I like to do that,” Haché said.
“I was saying, ‘Hi, buddy, how you doing?’ And the skunk looked up at me, and turned toward me, and it walked on to the sidewalk and it bit my leg and then it bit my shoe.”
Isnt most people’s reaction to seeing a skunk in a bush to just get some distance? Also any wild amimal that was acting weird would be giving me alarm bells, maybe thats just hindsight but animals can carry diseases don’t you know!

The climate doesnt change that much in one year though and you’d see bigger differences in weather over a region than current climate change. I think anyways…
