Mike Shanahan’s offense was plenty favorable to QBs. If there were social media back then people would be talking all about how Shanahan made Brian Griese viable and Jake Plummer into a Pro Bowl QB. He was just terrible at scouting QBs… a trait that his son actually kinda share if you think about it.

The problem with guys like Minshew is that he’s proven that he’s not capable of being an above average starter, which is pretty much minimum needed to have a chance to contend for a Super Bowl.

Sure, guys likes Fields and Young are probably worse, but they’re still young and can rise to that level until proven otherwise. It’s the upside that keeps many of these young QBs starting. Should the day come when it’s evident these guys can’t ever be more than below average starter, they too will be forgotten in the discourse.

Man I used to think Frank Reich’s offense was pretty dope back when he first went to Indy. Now it look so outdated. No wonder he keeps asking for vet QBs at Indy. He needs the QB to bail out his offense and not for his offense to help out his QB.
