I mean, I’m a hard determinist, so I don’t think anyone has free will, regardless of their belief system.

Ahh, generalizations. The cornerstone of all civil discourse.
Obviously, I can’t confirm this 100%, but based on what he’s said in interviews, I believe he has gone through a similar shift in views that I went through on my journey to Atheism, though he hasn’t made the turn yet. I believe that he is having trouble reconciling his beliefs with his morals. He has publicly stated that he supports Roe v Wade, so I think he is on the right track. While I totally understand and support not wanting to give your money or clicks to a piece of shit, I also think that if some people are on the cusp of change, it only hurts the cause if we shove them away for their past. Again, I don’t know his mind, and I’m just going on my own personal experience, but these are my feelings on the matter.
Totally tickled to the tips of my transistors, I’m thunderstruck that such a tech titan tirelessly tracks, tabulates, and teases out 'T’s throughout the tumultuous tide of typewritten text, truly transforming our understanding of technological temerity!
I just discovered Snarky Puppy last night, and when I saw their catalog I just leaned back in my chair and smiled.
That’s still 15 miles per hour.
Because that isn’t what it means. “Left” or “Liberal” means exactly this:
lib·er·al
adjective
- willing to respect or accept behavior or opinions different from one’s own; open to new ideas.
- relating to or denoting a political and social philosophy that promotes individual rights, civil liberties, democracy, and free enterprise.
Wanting to systematically change the status quo for the better is a matter of perspective. What is “for the better?” That is a moving target. A conservative can want the exact same thing, but the end goal is wholly different than that of a liberal. I’m not saying that you are wrong to want what you want, I’m just warning against conflating ideas, because that is a slippery slope, and you’ll find your own words turned against you very quickly.
Calling Liberalism “center-right”. Just because you are further left doesn’t mean that everyone else is further right of center now. Political definitions aren’t moving targets, they are what they have been since they were created. If you start shifting things one way or the other, then everything gets confused and people start to make wild claims like what the right has done with terms like antifa.
That third panel jump, tho.
Maybe I’m just over-hopeful, but I think “generations” is far too much of an over
understatement. With the way that technology moves, I don’t think we’ll be waiting that long.
