Eh, there is so much other stuff around this particular book store that I doubt you’d be disappointed if you went down there and it was closed. Also, this is not a typical book store. It has ancient, rare books, vintage books in all sorts of languages, and just all sorts of neat stuff you would probably never think to actually “search” for. It’s not like a books-a-million or a library even. It’s a totally unique experience you really can’t get online.

I love this bookstore!! It is very difficult to figure out if it will be open. You have to just drive or walk by and look to see if the door is open. Do you live in wheeling or nearby? If so, hi neighbor!! Didn’t think there were too many ohio valley folks on lemmy!

I think it’s easy for people on good terms with friends and family to judge someone for talking to a bot for companionship, but I think if they were in your same situation, they would reconsider. If you need it to get through a tough time, I think that’s okay. You need to keep yourself grounded somehow, though. The LLMs are trained to agree with you on everything, even bad, dangerous ideas. Read about AI psychosis before you talk to them any further so you are prepared for the pitfalls. Obviously it’s best to talk to real people who care about you, but sometimes those people don’t exists in one’s life. Don’t feel ashamed, but keep your wits about you.

As someone who drafts for a living, these drawings are shit and provide absolutely no useful information. This looks like a drawing from a project manager they did on the back if a napkin at lunch which they’d then bring to me and ask me to make actual useful drawing of.
