Also that dish has raw meat in it. It’s not a meal you would offer someone who just arrived and having Turkish food for the first time. It’s more of a family style meal. At least that wouldn’t be the meal choice I would make for someone who just arrived. I think they picked that dish so that they can get some tension around raw meat which kinda worked
