10 months agothe marbled swarm. i stopped about 30 or so pages in. the writing was so fucking dense and layered (which isn’t bad, but there is a time and place) & my brain had to re-read every other passage to truly understand what the protagonist was saying. and what he was saying was absolutely sick and twisted.
explanation: the protagonist is a HIGHLY disturbed 22yo gay rapist/killer who is praying on a emo 14 year old suicidal teen boy. i don’t wanna read the depths of how this man wants to degrade this kid. i felt grossed out even having it in my house on the shelf, i returned it to amazon LMAO.
i’m so glad i’m not alone in my utter dislike of this wack ass book. every review/video that’s on the internet ATE this book up & raved how shockingly good the twist was, but when it came i just: 😐😐
i feel like i had seen “this ending” 20x before (more so in films though)
