  • Preface: I am not a physicist- just a gal who’s read a lot of physics/pop science, so take this with an extra-large grain of salt.

My understanding is that our universe has no center point in 3D space. The common analogy is the (idealized) 2D surface of an expanding balloon- for any observer at any arbitrary point on that surface, the balloon would appear to be spreading out equally in all directions, as if the observer were standing at the center of the surface.

This is just what we see from our observations: at a large enough scale, the universe appears to be accelerating away from us equally in all directions. Applying the Copernican principle, we can reasonably assume that other observers elsewhere would see the same.

In short, there is no center and/or everywhere is the center of the universe.

  • Am I blocking anyone based on any ideology? Nope! Just don’t be a violent asshat or militantly political or perpetually hostile otherwise act in ways that would drive away normies. That’s it.

Like, I get that you don’t like being exposed to anyone who cares about anything, but at least be honest with yourself that you are indeed blocking based on ideology- seemingly the presence of any ideology(aside from the dominant cultural ideologies you are apparently unaware of). It’s totally cool for you to not want to be challenged in your beliefs in any way, but foisting your ideology on others without their knowledge is pretty messed up and the fact that you can’t see why that bothers people is kind of pathetic.

  • It’s because they value personal comfort and the accumulation of clout and wealth over the lives of, well, anyone. It’s one of the reasons that corporate pride is so insidious- it defangs and co-opts a truly liberatory movement into just another flavor of exploitative capitalism. The queer folks (even the cis gay men who are attempting to distance themselves from the queer community) who attach themselves to systems of power believe that they can take advantage of those systems to their own benefit without realizing or believing that they’ll never really be part of that club and that they’re next on the chopping block. The especially frustrating thing is that this is a pattern that has repeated itself throughout history… sigh.
