Cormac McCarthy. His writing is so utterly gorgeous and devastating to me. I could be reading about him describing a disgusting corpse and I’d be like wow that’s beautiful.
I had to keep putting down Wuthering Heights because I found the characters unbearable, does that count?
I’ve always thought of prose more as a way to differentiate writing from poetry.
