Thanks for the awesome work! Curious, how did you get around the GitHub Actions IP banning issue? Are you using a different CI?

I’m curious to understand what type of issues they constantly run into… supply chain issues? Regulation compliance? Inadequate planning? Development errors?
While I think these companies should definitely be regulated, I’m not sure how feasible or sustainable it is to nationalize them. It might curtail competition from fostering, if people who are responsible for introducing disruptive companies are less incentivized from creating companies.
As much as I’m not a fan and I’m highly critical of Musk, one can’t deny the disruptive impact his companies have had on the industries, and him forcing traditional car manufacturers to innovate. If his companies get nationalized, would that discourage others from creating potentially positively disruptive companies that would force existing industries to innovate?
What kind of research necessitates killing whales??
If he’s doing this for profit, there has to be a consumer… Who are the consumers and what are they buying?
Are we playing Jeopardy?
You are a stronger person than I. I still refuse to go back to Reddit after the bs they tried to pull lol. I’ve been looking at other ltt communities, but this is still the biggest community…
Reading the Reddit thread on this, I find it fascinating that, at the beginning of the incident, Lemmy had more balanced conversations vs the crazies on Reddit calling for LTT disbandment. Now after the latest video, it seems like Reddit seems more reasonable and receptive with Linus’ plans vs Lemmy being the LTT doomsayers.
@7heo pin it please?
You are a beaut. Thanks for putting together this list. To emphasize on the value of multiple communities, especially in times like this, recent drama has splintered the community into a spectrum, from blind devouts, to haneous and at times wild and unrealistic criticisms and expectations. You can find a community that shares your perspective, which also helps greatly with mental anxiety. Fediverse is a thing of beauty.
but failed to even mention the issues of workplace culture and absurd quotas.
For my own understanding, was there something that was missing in their content reforms/error handling and workplace culture segments? I think they had mentioned a commitment to reducing frequency, which I understand is a solution to those, no?
My personal top 3:
I mean… Sure there are major improvements that can be had in the US, but punishment and consequences as defined in Sharia law isn’t exactly something that the US can simply adopt.
I’m far from a cheap tipper, but the way tipping culture has evolved in North America is ridiculous.
And as such is how the beat goes, decade after decade. It will never change, it has been a rinse and repeat for ages, both at the federal and provincial levels.
