I am playing Horizon Zero Dawn and haven’t gotten to the first main event, but it gives me this feeling like if I upgrade all my equipment now it might be for nothing. I know that is not the case, I looked it up, but what are some games that are the worst offenders? One I can think of is Aerith in the original FF7.
Minecraft. Long, expensive upgrade process to make several variations of top rank gear and weapons, but oops! You have five minutes to recover and it’s gone if you don’t get back in time. Even if you do, you may have to fight the mob that’s now wearing/using your uber gear!
That’s not exatly the same though. You lose your items because you yourself failed, the game didn’t just take it from you, like in gta sa for example
