As a physician, I can definitely say there is 0% chance he played with septic arthritis. I love Maxx, any physician who would clear a player with septic arthritis should lose their license

Hey doc! 26 y/o M w/ acute onset of a swollen, warm, red, painful L knee. Vitals show temp >100.4. Joint fluid aspiration is successful & cultures grow a specific bacteria. What’s the diagnosis?

LOL, yes, septic arthritis. Well, typically in any adult < 35 yo presenting with acute painful monoarticular arthritis you’re either worried about GP septic arthritis or gonococcal arthritis. Find it extremely hard to believe he underwent washout for septic arthritis, which would still require prolonged abx therapy and play on Sunday

I had the same thing in my knee about 4 years ago. Looked the same and everything. It’s extremely painful and I was bedridden for about 10 days six of which I was in the hospital. And that’s not even to mention this shitty feeling that comes along with having a fever. Take it from me, it is super human that he could play in this condition.

    Thoughts:

    1. I trust any doctor with a Charles Woodson jersey in his office.
    2. Apparently Maxx Crosby doesn’t feel pain. Pain feels Maxx Crosby.
    3. I was not ready for the drainage at 3:36.

I don’t like AP for this, I don’t care if Maxx is a dawg. It’s not worth his life or career to play in a meaningless game during a lost season. AP should be shown the door for this alone. I don’t want Maxx dying on the field just so AP can keep his job.

How dumb do you have to be to think has anything to do with the coach? Crosby said he would rather die than miss a chiefs game, but you want to blame the coach?

      Come on, man

Go watch Maxx’s podcast then promptly delete this so you don’t embarrass yourself. AP did everything he could to keep him from playing and Maxx bottom line told him and Champ “You’re not stopping me from playing.” Dude is a fucking animal and there is no force - not even a natural disaster striking allegiant stadium that was stopping that man.

The medical staff make that call not AP. Maxx even said in his interview he had to do a whole bunch of tests before they even considered letting him play

I have a hard time getting out of bed when my back is a little sore. Maxx is almost a different species from me.

I don’t know how much more I can be a fan of this dude. My favorite player growing up was Howie Long (ya, I’m old) but Maxx is topping out my list of all time favorite Raiders.

There’s a reason Maxx has MJ and Kobe tatted on his body, amongst others.

Those two were different. Sickly driven individuals that defied medical odds multiple times in their careers.

Maxx is following suit and I hope to Christ Almighty he’s in the Raiders uniform his entire career Ala Kobe. (RIP).

To say MJ is built different is an understatement. There have been some great players but to me MJ is the GOAT. The man was an artist on the court and no one could take over a game like he could. Hell, sometimes even the opposing players would be just watching in awe at some of the shots he made. I don’t think he even knew how he made some of them judging by the shrug he would give after some impossible basket.

I bleed purple and Gold like I bleed Silver&Black, and my two heroes as a kid were Howie Long and Earvin Magic Johnson.

Like Magic, I too am a SoCal transplant from Michigan (Flint not too far from Lansing where Maj hailed from), and I tell you what, it’s closer than most might think when you look at Magic’s resume, and then the kid Kobe came on the scene to do what he did 20 years in the Purple&Gold, but MJ was the perfect fucking basketball player for the time that he played! The sick determination, the athleticism, the mid-range, the post moves, the first step, the fucking huge paws! Forget it, don’t get me started on his defense either. Pit fucking bull on defense no pun intended!
