Horrifying prospect of them spreading their disease further. God no. No. Stay in your shitty ecosystem, you infected the industry enough. Leave it.

I understand the appeal of Game Pass. You get all the games day one just pay a subscription. No waiting, no going out to buy or buy in general. But I don’t know if this is a good thing for consumers to have Game Pass on everything. For me personally I’m a physical only guy I love my physical games and seeing my collection grow right in front of me. I also feel a hell of a lot better knowing that a big corp(MS) can at anytime take away my “ownership” of the game I “bought” and with Game Pass you don’t even get to buy anything so what if something happens? At least with physical I know I have it in my hands as my own copy. For a lot of people GP is convenient, but thank god not everyone is on board the GP train because it would be sad if we just kill off the alternative to play games. MS is crazy wanting the damn thing on everything as if Sony and Nintendo would ever allow it.

That would be a nice thing since gamepass is far and away the best subscription service to ever exist. The value is astronomical. I spend a fair bit yearly on it yet I haven’t bought a first party Microsoft title in years which also would’ve cost a lot. Not to mention the hundred+ titles I’ve gotten to enjoy that I never even would’ve looked at.

But obviously sony and Nintendo would never go for it. And it’d be tragic if they left the console market. The Series X/S is miles ahead of the PS5 in terms of features and functionality. It just runs way better, the software is significantly more robust. They have an immense revolutionary level of backwards compatibility that doesn’t involve streaming a goddamn ps3… Sony barely coasts along as is because it’s clear they don’t have to do much and fanboys will simply blindly drop their pants anyway. Having no competition will just make them quadruple down on that laziness.

My biggest want is Steam and Microsoft to integrate. Having game pass through steam would be a game changer.

Is anybody really surprised that the endgame of the company buying up every major game publisher is a monopoly on the entire game industry?

Well their strategy of buying up every studio they possibly could to strong-arm the market didn’t really work out very well considering most of those studios they bought haven’t been able to produce anything of note besides a few dumpster fires.

So yeah, I guess they do need to try a new strategy now.

As a PS user, yes please, GP is an amazing deal.

Then again, if it does come to PS, I’ll keep my hope low, Sony been treating the Asian market like shit anyway.

I’m alright with my monthly ps plus games that i can keep forever, and the playstation catalog/classics, I have no interest in game pass. It’s hyped up more than it should be imo.

I only own a PlayStation so I don’t have a lot of experience, but I don’t have faith in a subscription service for games. It’s a deal that is too good to be true because it is too good to be true. It would follow the same arc as movie and tv streaming has followed. It begins as a utopia of choice and availability to consumers, and then the price will go up while pulling back on content available. I’d rather just pay for the games I want to play and have them permanently in my collection. I also would rather support physical media anyway.
