I’d say Sekiro… It’s a cool game and all, but It has like 1 mechanic, which if you master you become a god, but if you don’t, you get trashed (deflect). I really like it when a game has multiple ways to approach a situation, and Sekiro is just not it.
(Yeah you can dodge and do some other stuff but in the end it all falls down to deflecting and parrying)

My man buys a sword fighting game and gets mad when he has to sword fight.
Other soulsbornes give you the options to get good at tanking, parrying, dodging, or generally get smarter with how you engage enemies.
In Sekiro you deflect or die.
That isnt a twist in the end though, thats how the entire game is
