OTTAWA — Today, the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC), alongside Public Services International (PSI) and the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC), is sending a joint letter to Members of Parliament urging the federal government to require greater corporate tax transparency through public country-by-country reporting (pCbCR) for the largest multinational corporations operating in Canada. Public country-by-country reporting would require large multinational corporations to publicly disclose where they generate profits, where they employ workers, and how much tax they pay, using data companies already submit privately to tax authorities.       A general strike is in our future. It’s not immediately imminent, but we all need to start preparing, even people not in unions or exempt need to be ready to stand in solidarity. This is not about jobs and economics, this is about deciding the future of the human race, and the general population’s place in it, and about asserting our control to make those decisions, while we still can.

    Given his housing minister says prices can’t fall, likely because Brookfield owns residential real estate, I’m not hopeful. Stocks must go up.
