Okay can you leave your country without a passport? Can you board an international flight from your home country to the rest of the countries on earth without a government issued passport from your home country?

Lmfao the fact that it’s devolved into this is clear bad faith discussion, this isn’t even a good talking point because people from the DPRK travel and work in China all the time, and this dudes response was a chatgpt “nuh-uh”

    • US law states you cannot leave the United States without having a valid passport. The US does restrict people leaving the US. (Let alone how they restrict the places you can go)

Incorrect. There is no exit law that you have to possess a passport on your way out. If I’m wrong, show me the law on the gov website.

The US (and most countries) have no laws that restrict the movement of people between countries.

I’m saying people in North Korea, who aren’t rich or powerful, can’t just leave North Korea on a whim… effectively imprisoning them.

No, you made the claim that they can’t leave. The onus is on you to present evidence supporting your claim. If you can’t, it means you got caught lying. Try harder next time

Dude, do the BAREST of research. Part (b) and because you will not read the link I will quote “Except as otherwise provided by the President and subject to such limitations and exceptions as the President may authorize and prescribe, it shall be unlawful for any citizen of the United States to depart from or enter, or attempt to depart from or enter, the United States unless he bears a valid United States passport.” Bolding is my own

What, do you think people who are homeless on the streets of the US are freely able to leave the US? Do you think someone who has multiple jobs, medical debt, credit card debt, student loan debt are able to afford a vacation abroad?
