I think of him as a kind of avatar of gluttonous instability which needed to come into existence for forces to realize their irrational goals that must be kept at bay by one trillion missiles. Not in a way where I actually believe he’s part of a millenarian prophecy or something, just…he’s so useful, isn’t he?
