Im honestly asking because i dont get it, not because im salty about it.

So, ive never been part of a ML space or community before neither irl nor online, because im a really introverted person and grew up in Argentina.

But i saw the Lady Izdihar short about misogony in ML spaces and i thought it was really concerning and worrying, and even 1 or 2 cases were too much.

And i also read really nasty stuff about the ACP and the british one.

So i really wanted to know, aaaand thats pretty much it.

Edit: heres the link https://www.youtube.com/shorts/poc6t6qO1VM

Also i remember reading about the “old guard” of the cprf not being great

There are others who could explain ACP in more detail, but one way of putting it is they are Yankee colonialism with a working class coat of paint slapped on. Opportunists at best, but could be anything from psyop to fash (or both). The fact that they tend to try to wreck / take over legitimate ML spaces online suggests they are more interested in disrupting western left activities than they are interested in doing anything for the working class.

Anyway, they don’t really count as “left”.

That said, any “left” space is likely to have some issues with things such as sexism because patriarchy is a thing and you don’t escape it just by trying to be left. However, this is just an acknowledgement that it’s a systemic issue. Likely the flack you got had to do with the phrasing being interpreted as if you were saying that ML spaces have these problems in some significant way, especially more than others. When it is likely to be the opposite, that they have less of it, on account of recognizing the problems of patriarchy and trying to combat them. If you encounter a supposedly ML space or party that is especially bad on this (consistently, not just as rumor-mongering anecdotes about a person having an issue downstream with a particular branch of a party), that may be a sign they aren’t very principled as MLs. Look for what official positions are like and how leadership acts. How issues are handled when they do arise.
