Beijing’s full-blown assault on the European auto market imperils the entire industry.
The full scale unprovoked Chinese October 7 style invasion of German markets!
Free competition mfs when they’re losing the competition:
that’s always what kills me with these kinds of articles: china is making products the world wants. people are buying chinese products of their own volition; the CPC is not forcing people to buy cars at gunpoint. china is, in essence, beating the capitalists at their own game — and the west is very mad about it. literally the “isn’t there someone you forgot to ask?” meme

Not to disagree, but just to add a finer point to it: I would say it’s more like China is beating the capitalists at the game that capitalists pretend to play but don’t actually play. Capitalists will beat their chests about competition and how it supposedly makes capitalism a good thing for the world. But then when China is competitive, they seethe about it. Because the capitalists aren’t interested in healthy competition, since that would mean a more communal mentality of overall benefit where some capitalists may be pushed down in order for everyone to flourish. They just use that as a lie to sell the capitalist model. In reality, the capitalists care about monopoly, not competition, and only praise competition in the context of framing their actions after the fact as a fair act of competition between peers.
They are starting to “lose” to China because they were never prepared for fairness, nor competition. They were only prepared for being able to beat their opponents into submission with any and every dirty, underhanded, or even violent tactic they can think of. And China got too strong and too fortified for them to beat it into submission like usual.
Have you tried making better cars?
No but they tried making them more expensive.
they also tried decades of fraud to hide the emissions and even THAT didnt work.
And who’s fault is that? The government simply was not good enough at explaining it away, a key competence more and more politicians lack these days. If they aren’t careful someone might get the feeling they don’t work for the people at all. Dire times for the eCoNoMy.
Make another complaint, and the car will have an additional caliper and stabilizer link.
Haha, I mean it is The Telegraph so not that surprising. But is it interesting that blowing up nordstream and starting regional chaos in the gulf by bombing everyone --> directly translating into energy problems for the German manufacturing industry, creating the conditions that accelerate the already slowly collapsing domestic industry is not assault.
Assault is when you make good cars!
They weren’t calling it “assault” when German cars dominated the Chinese market.
No, but they would have said bad and untrue things about the German manufacturer’s Chinese partners and technology transfer agreements.
No no no, you don’t understand. these are all separate incidents without any effects on each other. china bad!
China made my wife leave me

why do all these pseudo-journalists look exactly the same
This article from a country whose auto industry self-destructed with zero pressure from the Chinese. Buying a Chinese made MG has got to sting.
