Labour is a natural necessity, an indispensable condition for man’s existence. Without labour, human life itself would be impossible. (joseph | he/him)

Music: Theory and Practice@lemmygrad.ml•What have you been listening to recently? | 🎧 Weekly music thread - June 23rd, 2026English
5·29 days agothis is a very LARP-y answer i know LOL but i’ve been listening to a lot of MPR-era music, actually. most of it is very good but my favorites are Мөнхийн Ленин (Forever With Lenin) and Эгэл Цэрэг (Ordinary Soldier)
other than that? i’ve been checking out a lot of stevie wonder lately. i also listened to prince’s debut album yesterday, it’s pretty good.

2·1 month agoi would also posit that the obsession also has roots in japanese chauvinism, because of course it does. every debate about piracy of japanese media inevitably degrades into screeds about how piracy damages the sanctity of ~japanese art~, which is almost always an incredible crock of shit. i don’t necessarily say this as a dig at the actual content in question, but when you start acting like yaoi games count as japanese cultural treasures… well, something has gone extremely wrong.

5·2 months agoit’s a little sad this flag got scrapped in favor of the Soyombo flag that was adopted post-WW2, because it is also very loaded with national symbology, but i do ultimately understand why it happened — easier to reproduce + national symbol is more prominent and immediately recognizable: something that was very important for the MPR to signal when the KMT had been breathing down their necks since the revolution.
all symbolism aside though i do like the animal portraits. very cute :-]

12·2 months agothis one is really good because it doesn’t even make sense to anyone with a functioning brain. every language in the fucking world has a word for “struggle”, let alone that the specific context that “jihad” as a concept has within Islamic discourse is much more nuanced than just struggling against nonbelievers or whatnot. but of course you would need to recognize Muslims as people to acknowledge that.

that’s always what kills me with these kinds of articles: china is making products the world wants. people are buying chinese products of their own volition; the CPC is not forcing people to buy cars at gunpoint. china is, in essence, beating the capitalists at their own game — and the west is very mad about it. literally the “isn’t there someone you forgot to ask?” meme
