    You’re getting down voted to hell, but you are absolutely right. Owning the disk isn’t going to help you one bit when Sony pulls your license or locks you out of your account. The console is what decides if you can run those bytes from the disk, and Sony controls that console. The physical disk is pretty meaningless.

      Even if you can’t play the game, the fact that the disc is required to play the game as a method of license management still holds inherent value.

      Just because Sony locks you out, it doesn’t negate the resale value. And even if Sony kills your account and blacklist your console, there would be nothing stopping you from buying a new PS5 and play it completely offline with a local account. You’d be SOL with digital-only licenses.
