    DOGE funding cuts, I think? They weren’t doing mass layoffs but were having the copper ripped out of the walls. Wouldn’t explain the mass spike in 2023, which I’m guessing is related to bird flu and the decline of covid restrictions.

      I don’t think it was DOGE. According to a quick search DOGE was initiated as an executive order in January 2025, which would make sense as that aligns with Trump coming into the presidentcy.

      The quote in OP "This suggests an undercount of incidents after the cuts" is alarming. That suggests that figures from 2025 onwards are potentially much higher.
