Why are legislators wasting their time on this? Protecting the voices/images of actors/actresses should be the least of legislators concerns when it comes to AI. Think resource waste/environmental damage.

Why are legislators wasting their time on this? Sure seems like you’re complaining

Don’t get caught up in the Trump school of politics. This was likely a quick win.

Ramming through laws is a great way to get them overturned (as what happens with Trump, constantly). Better AI laws is a lot more complicated

Copyrights is actually an effective countermeasure against AI. The only reason AI can remain profitable, is by stealing information. If there was a requirement to pay for all stolen info, it would actually collapse fairly quickly.

That’s a question. I asked a question. When did a question become a complaint? If someone can answer the question, then of course I will listen.

Regardless, your point about copyright is interesting. Tell me, what do you believe will be the effect of this law? Do you think it will affect AI in a broader sense (for example, could it affect LLMs, image generators, or even the secondary effects we are seeing from the broader AI paradigm such as environmental damage etc.) or do you believe that the effects will be more niche restricted to specific axioms of AI, and if so, which ones and in what way?
