Ohh hahaha, thanks. I’ve never played a Final Fantasy game, despite having them constantly recommended. There are just too many good games and not enough time.
Give the first couple of hours of Final Fantasy X a try; it is definitely the one classic-era title that has held up the best.
If it doesn’t click for you by the time you first meet Yuna, it’s not for you - and you can safely give the series a miss (beyond maybe checking out some retrospectives on YouTube).
I’d recommend IX for a newcomer, the style has broad appeal and the first few characters are instantly likeable. X has… a lot of clunky dialogue that was absolutely groundbreaking (Fully voiced! Expressive faces!) but shows its age more obviously.
