such a great comment, call it out!
i was watching an american TV show, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and the plot has them go to Riga, i think it was. and in the dialogue, the chsracters say something along the lines of “we need to go to Riga, a town near Poland” i can’t remember the specifics, but i felt incredibly patronised, especially when as you say, sometimes all you get is a couple of letters to know which US state we’ve travelled to, because of course we’re in the US.
and to make matters worse, these are internagional spies, mercenaries and diplomats talking to each other. you knpw where Riga is!
