        His performance on Dexter still haunts me, though. 😅

        But that’s what I admire in actors, being versatile. Not many people know this about me, but I financed my job education with acting myself back in the day. Unfortunately no sci fi roles, just small gigs in crime dramas and lots of theatre stuff in general.

        My favourite roles were always the very opposite of my own personality. Being the villain was exceptional fun.

        I even received an acting award once, but that involved interactive acting in public and some off duty cops believed it was real and pinned me down on the ground and put handcuffs on me while my co-actor freaked out and kept screaming at them:

        “We’re just actors! The local police department has been informed about us and they said it’s grand!”

        Ah well, got 2 weeks paid sick leave after that and they actually apologised to me later. xD

          Thanks for the silly-surreal story. Glad you didn’t get your head bashed in.

          Playing against type is what I love about a lot of the Mirror Universe episodes. Particularly DS9, where Sisko is manic as all hell and Kira seduces then chews the scenery. Gives the cast a bit of a stretch and reprieve from the established characters in the best way.

            Probably a highly unpopular opinion, but I can’t stand the mirror universe episodes. The only exception was the one with James Darren (Vic Fontaine), being a real person and a freedom fighter instead of being a hologram, only to get shot on the spot after some honest confusion. ^^

            In acting I just loved very different roles / job assignments. One day you’re awfully sweet and kind, the next week you’re a despicable piece of human garbage.

            Thinking about it now, maybe I’ll get back into it since I’m officially retiring from music by the end of the year due to health issues with one of my knees (professional drummer gal). But acting would only be a side gig for fun. I’ll end up with a boring office job again…

              Nah. They sucked. I rolled my eyes on the DS9 watchthrough whenever one came up. It’s fun the first time, but in the big picture doesn’t do anything for the storyline.
              Which doesn’t mean that the actors weren’t killing it.
              Maybe going back into them focusing on the acting could even give me newfound enjoyment of these episodes.
