      I don’t mean to pick on your comment in particular, but I’m really getting sick and tired of every response to these sorts of corporate criminals being just to boycott. It’s as if everybody’s so terminally capitalism-brained they don’t even consider political/legal/regulatory remedies to be options.

          I didn’t say people shouldn’t boycott. The “just to” was important.

          This logic is nonsense under the such an anticompetitive global economy. There are often only a few options, and they are often all shit in the exact same ways. A “vote with wallet” mentality makes little sense when the market is a oligopoly. As wealth inequality increases and competition decreases, capitalists increasingly ignore consumer demand. After all, we have less disposable income, less wealth, and fewer choices on who to give money to. Blaming the consumer gives companies and governments that refuse to regulate a free pass.
