as a dc comics fan, i have no problem with dark and moody. i just think the newer trek has a writing problem. there might be a few good episodes, but so much just feels like mediocre fan fiction. i think trek peaked with ds9 and with paramount’s new leadership i don’t think that’s likely to change.
