It’s still much better than what we had before, which was:
You get sick.
You try to see a specialist, but your insurance sucks and doesn’t cover being alive.
Oh well. You pay to get that CT Scan and it turns out you have cancer.
Sounds expensive. Your insurance calls that a “preexisting condition” and drops you. You can’t buy insurance.
Oh well at least you still have a jo–FIRED lol
We all get it. Healthcare in the US is still a clusterfuck and we need a nationalized system, but writing off ACA is childish bullshit. There’s a reason the vampires in the GOP tried to repeal it over 60 times over the course of 10 years. If the GOP is against it, that’s usually a good sign that it’s good, even if it’s not great.
If after 16 years all you have to say for the effort to tackle the clusterfuck of American healthcare is “well at least we stopped them rejecting you for having a body” its a fucking pathetic showing and I think they should be ashamed.
No shit it was worse. But if someone says your party is politically worthless election losers and your response is “Oh yeah, well 16 years ago we did everything down to pulling senators out of the hospital to scrape together enough of a majority, and all we got out of it was shaving off the two most egregious methods of predation from the healthcare industry” Sounds like your party is politically worthless and loses elections because of it.

You’re absolutely right. It was much better when you couldn’t get health insurance because you got sunburned once.
