Excellent. I biked 10 miles through mostly forested trails to go get a really good gas station burrito yesterday.
That’s also super cool! My goal today was just to find a nice place to eat some cherries I brought with me.
Awesome!
There’s a trail near me that follows a small river for a few miles. My last handful of rides I’ve been incorporating that trail for a nice change of pace. Given I usually ride in the evenings close to sunset it does get pretty buggy compared to the city streets but it’s absolutely worth it
That sounds really great! Have any pictures? :)
This is from a bench near one of the bridges
Looks like a really relaxing place. I have always really liked trails alongside rivers or streams. I find that the sound of water has something really calming to it. Also in summer the air is just a bit cooler there.
I apologize for dissing it but feels more like a creek to me. Does that have water all year?
I am not really sure of the exact definitions and English is not my first language, so might be.
It has water all year round, is 55km long and eventually feeds into another bigger river.
Here where I took the pictures it is pretty shallow and slow flowing, but that is because it was artificially split into several smaller rivers over the course of several kilometers. Apparently has something to do with minimizing flooding.
Im honestly not real sure what the formal definition is. It just looks shallow enough to not have water all year round which is what I think of as a creek. Makes me wonder if the multiple rivers become one during some high season.
I certainly don’t think of it like that. A creek to me is mostly defined as “a fairly small river where you want to go splash around in for awhile, but it doesn’t have to be a big thing and also you float down it in inner tubes.” I definitely don’t see them as mutually exclusive, but its all great stuff either way.
