Speed on VHS—pure 90s action bliss.

This is the movie that reignited Keanu Reeves’ career, turned Sandra Bullock into a superstar, and let Dennis Hopper chew up every scene he touched.

Sure, the premise is ridiculous. But that’s the point. You don’t watch Speed for realism—you watch it for the thrill. For the impossible stunts. For the moment a bus jumps a freeway gap and somehow sticks the landing. Praise the movie gods.

And honestly? If you’re firing up a VCR, this is exactly the kind of tape you want spinning.

@movies

    The story Bullock tells of the audition between her and Reeves is bonkers. The Smartless podcast with Bullock is worth listening to for this alone.

    Sandy is a gem and does not get enough Hollywood respect. She’s got sooo much talent and skill!
