Since the release of Red Viper, which forked R3D Dragon and enabled games to be emulated at full speed on a 3DS, this is hands down the best way to play the virtual boy library (3D is a must. A vr headset is probably a good option too, but imo these games are most comfortable in a handheld form).
I recommend Virtual Boy Wario Land especially, I had a lot of fun with that one.

I’ve still never experienced it. I talked my mom into renting one for my birthday, but then some kid’s mom said she heard it gives people headaches and satanic memories so it got vetoed >;(

It may have been created well before hardware was good enough to support it, but it was a pretty cool idea. Still would love to get my hands on a fully-working one for my retro game collection.
