Young Americans spend much more time alone than they did in the past. According to data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics’ American Time Use Survey, people aged 15–29 spent about 45% more time alone in 2023 than in 2010.
I don’t really like how they conducted this. If I was in charge of the study, I would focus on how alone they really are. No contact, whatsoever.
If they’re still making video calls and contacting by phone, they’re not alone because they are accompanying themselves with other people, just remotely.
