That means he’s currently 69. Nice

I wonder what 69 is like at 69… (wife) it’s like eating spaghetti with meatballs.

Too young and inexperienced, a president should be at least 98!

Also, zero experience no longer precludes winning the presidency.

If we have a minimum age to run for President then why not a maximum age. Initially we didn’t need it because most people would be dead by 70. But we need it now

I personally don’t like the idea of maximum age. Someone can very well be mentally OK even in their 90s.

      Rather a mandatory psychological evaluation.

People can also be mature before 35.

The idea is that in a country of 320 million, there should be enough qualified people, and nobody cares if you disqualify some people who should still be okay.

There is also the aspect of very old people not having to live with the consequences of their decisions.

that’s too subjective. Better to just do age

A standardized test to evaluate mental capacity is too subjective for you?

The US has a bad history regarding competency tests. It’s better to have a cut off age.

Even if they’re mentally capable, they probably won’t be alive to experience the consequences of the decisions they make while in office.

Plus, in your 90s you’re not going to be very aware about the issues that most of the population face.

By age alone, he’s already acquired 10% of the vote in whatever election he joins … get him to commit a felony and he’ll gain another 5% … some sort of sexual misconduct 5% … say he’s Christian (even if he’s not) another 5%

Didn’t Frodo offer it to Tom Bombadil, who actually touched it, but refused the offer? I know everyone else wouldn’t/couldn’t even touch the thing.
