I hope for your sake that the Australian state learns, from what the US is doing to Europe, that it has been betting on the wrong horse.

So do I. Polling for the upcoming federal election is very concerning right now. Our right wing isn’t shy about their admiration for trump and it seems like the average Australian isn’t learning anything from what’s going on in the US right now.

most of my fellow americans i talk to say that canada is their exit plan, but i think that they fail to realize that the entire anglosphere is succumbing to fascist fever (as well as the other most closely related language spheres like germans, italian, polish, and french); would you join the kiwis if this came to pass? (i ask because they and the irish are the only ones that seem immune to the conservative populism).

Nah, too old, poor, and bad tempered. Plus I’ve already moved to a new continent twice, which is enough. And my kids would kick up all kinds of stink. But if we go the way of the states it’s going to be tough living out my normal life resisting the urge to punch a lot of people in the face.
