AI is going to really transform education, I am waiting to see what models they will chose? I am actually a little puzzled over this new Ai thing…

AI in education will destroy what little education we have left. AI won’t care what the govt tells it to teach, it won’t strike, and it won’t refuse to teach things that go against historical and scientific fact. AI in education is the perfect propaganda and indoctrination machine.

So of course the UCP will love it.

And while we’re all waiting for this mythical transformative AI that may never arrive, teachers have real problems now that need to be resolved.

Plus, with the current use if LLMs teachers are starting to think more analog. More in class writing assignments on pencil and paper.

Things like In class essays, instead of homework. Because we need to promote thinking and creation, rather than copy-paste

Exactly. Since we invented calculators nearly a hundred years ago students have been unable to learn how to do basic addition and multiplication unassisted.

We see that one for sure. 16 year old not knowing how much change they should get back if they buy something for 15.70 and hand the cashier a 20.

At work I had to help an engineer tally objects on their screen, because they struggled to keep track after 10.
