The level of their hubris and cruelty far surpasses that of their predecessors by an extreme margin. This is why so many of them turn out to be pedophiles, actual psychopaths, or similarly dangerous/maladjusted/unstable. So yeah they probably abuse their kids a lot. Would explain why so many of turn out so fucked up.
