Classic example is the depicted Demon of Hatred from Sekiro. Don’t get me wrong - the fight does work in Sekiro. But it would feel at home in something like Bloodborne, at least that’s what most fans say.

Is there any other boss you’ve encountered where you thought they’d fit a different soulslike better?

Seeing this post, I realised I still haven’t beaten Demon of Hatred legit yet. I 100%ed (well, obviously not) the game with the cheese, and remember reaching phase 2 legit.

Guess I need to go back and fix that soon

Honestly, I don’t vibe with the fight too much either. After beating him legit once, on subsequent playthroughs I’d also just cheese him. More fun than beating him again tbf because I rarely encounter games where glicjtes work

    Amygdala and Ebrietas

Don’t get me wrong; they fit in the setting. Amygdala makes that setting.
But oh my Kos, I would love to fight them in Elden Ring. In Bloodborne you attack their feet and wait for those brief opportunities to strike their heads. You can use a few ranged options to deal with them (Base Bloodtinge with Bone Marrow Ash does decent damage). But imagine them in Elden Ring with Weapon Arts, Sorceries, and Incantations. A ranged battle with Comet vs. a Call Beyond from Ebrietas would be awesome, or Miquella’s Ring of Light against Amygdala’s nonsense. This would turn these fights on their head and, in my opinion, make them more enjoyable.

Hard agree with Ebrietas. 60 fps, revised hitboxes and elden ring combat would be super fun! I mean agree on both :P but I already like the Ebrietas fight a lot so this would just perfect it.

Unpopular opinion here but the SEA Spider from AC6 should have been a souls boss. Not a lot of people remember that the armored core series is fromsoft, but it is. Something about the movements and attack pattern of the SEA Spider felt more like a big ungainly souls boss than it did an AC boss. The Smart Cleaner almost felt that way too but it still feels more like an AC boss.

I could imagine it as a boss form for Sellen. Rather than helping her or Jerren as soon as she gets to Raya Lucaria, first help her face off against a Carian knight to take over the academy. When you come back the first time, she’s a regular graven mass, but Rennala is still sidelined

In the courtyard after the Red Wolf of Radagon boss room, you make your choice for the quest. You can either help Jerren fight a fallingstar beast (called down by Sellen as she peers deeper into the primeval current) to side with him, or you can fight him yourself (in which case he gets some backup from a few Lucarian scholars who remained loyal to Rennala and Sellen casts magic artillery down from the tower to help you)

When you next enter the hall, either with Jerren to kill Sellen or by yourself to continue your apprenticeship, her graven mass form has spider legs made up of the same type of material as the fallingstar beasts. All of the sea spider’s missile and laser attacks get reflavoured as magic. The missile one that launches upwards is basically already the graven mass barrage in fast forward, and the laser is comet azur. I think it’d work great

Chained Ogre and Blazing Bull both need to be removed from Sekiro and placed in a Souls game. Maybe Dark Souls III or Elden Ring. Fast combat suits them but they need a good dodge mechanic, not parry.

Don’t you use the grapple hook on Chained Ogre? I think he’s got one or two moves you can mikiri counter as well.

Also, Sekiro has a pretty good dodge mechanic when it comes to grabbing attacks and the ones where they leap into the air and land on you.

Now Demon of Hatred on the other hand… Fuck that boss.

Blazing bull doesn’t work in a game with a stamina bar. It’s in Sekiro basically to point out to the player that you can just keep running.
