This seems like right wing bait. I don’t have a problem with people making 200-300k especially in a very high cost of living place like NYC. I have a problem with people who literally make 1,000x that. Let’s not forget the math on how absurd being a billionaire is. Working class needs to stop this infighting and focus on the real problem.

They need to peg their salary to some kind of metric or have some kind of cap based on the lowest paid employee.
I think their salary should be the median wage of their constituents.
This would drive politicians of all levels to try and improve the lives of everyone they represent.
You get in representing your local section of council and average income is 100k that’s what you earn.
You make changes and improve lively hood, all for a sudden you earn 110k everyone is 10k richer.
The biggest issue I see is it might cause politicians to drive gentrification in their represented area though.
Agreed, should be tied to minimum wage. That said, the cynic in me thinks they’d just change the multiplier as they pleased.
Is it bad optics? Absolutely.
But anyone who earns an actual paycheck should be on the same team, or at least given the benefit of the doubt.
The enemy makes their money by simply having money, that’s not what this is.
