I was in Rome last week. I went in to check some Cartier tanks, and when I was given one I got Immediately disappointed, the feeling was ultra cheap in comparison the new Longines dolcevita for men was exceptionally made. I suggest you go see it. Cheers

4000€ for the simplest quartz possible is insane to me, they cant be spending more than 100€ to make one of these

They’re like $2.8K brand new from reputable grey dealers. Cartier, as much as I love them, is one of those brands where its probably not worth buying from an AD unless its more expensive ones where you don’t wanna take the risk with warranties if anything goes wrong.

At the beginning of this year I was interested in a Tank Must Large (not the XL model). Since then they increased the price a little less than 3.000€ to 3.800€ or more than 26%. They swapped the synthetic leather for calve leather, but the price increase is just ridiculous. I like the looks, but they can keep their quartz bullshit watch for this insane price.

I would get a smaller version for your wrist. The Tank overall is a great watch. You’re not buying it for the movement, you’re buying it for the unique look and classic style. The original GOAT Muhammad Ali wore a Tank. Warren Beatty, JFK, Steve McQueen, Clark Gable all wore small tanks. Watches have obviously trended bigger over the years but historically masculine celebrities haven’t had any issue wearing smaller Cartiers. On the other hand, if you don’t feel confident you can style it with the rest of your look I don’t think it goes with everything. At the end of the day the watch is only good if you like it.

Pass. I genuinely don’t understand the hype for the Tank, and paying thousands for a quartz movement is ridiculous imo.

Get the small, this one looks big on you. Otherwise it’s a great watch. It’s quartz but I guarantee they’re not throwing a cheap unbranded movement in there. There’s no second hand so you wouldn’t notice + the added convenience of it being a grab and go piece.

My wife has this exact config and loves it. She also prefers the quartz for accuracy/not having to reset it all the time. It looks fantastic and is such a timeless design. She went with this over the francaise and doesn’t regret it.
