To set the scene, I think it was right for Carr to move on at the end of last season for everyone and the roster we’ve buit on the back of him, Waller moving etc. reliant upon that occurring.

However, seeing the good vibe in the locker room I would have loved to have seen Adams with Carr under AP and how that would have worked.

It might not have won a SB but reckon it could have been a fun season that was made you excited to watch the team.

Can we stop with these Carr posts? What’s the point?

We’ve gotten rid of the bad coach and now we get to see what AOC can do.

My brothers in Christ please stop fantasizing about Derek Carr. I’m praying for your deliverance.

Like u/not_beniot said, Carr would have kept JMD employed. It would have been much more of the mediocrity and JMD would most likely still have another year with us. My prediction is he would have signed 2024 Mac Jones and it would be just like Jimmy G was this year. I would have been intrigued with Bo, AP, Adams, Jacobs, and Carr offensive stronghold, but it’s better this way.

I was thinking about this last week, but more so if Carr would’ve been ripping cigs in the locker room with the boys.

The TD to Mayer- Carr doesn’t even attempt that throw.

    1. It’s off schedule and he’d be looking for a RB in the flat there.

    and

    1. It’s a pass into the end zone. I am still not convinced Carr knows passing into the end zone is legal.

I think he’d play like he’s currently playing on the Saints, who to remind you have an elite defense, and everyone would be upset that the QB is costing us games.

He moved on after the Raiders had moved on from him. Carr only tried his best. He was never an elite QB, but you don’t get ride of a QB until you have a better one.

The Raiders didn’t and it’s going to bit us in the ass. Only miss what you had until it’s gone, or however, Carr’s consistency is missed. Maybe overpaid in some seasons, but the Raiders are worse off without him. FaxIzFax

Accept the reality that Carr is no longer on the team. But Once a Raider, always a Raider. Sometime after he retires, Mark will have him back along with other alumni and probably light the torch. So can we move on and remember the words of Al Davis - “The greatness of the Raiders lies in their future.”

I wish Carr was our QB. And I wish Madden was our coach. And I wish Richie B was assistant to the regional coach. And I wish I had $20. And I wish I could put that $20 down on a 100,000:1 sure thing. And I wish and I wish and I wish and I wish and I wish and I wish and I wish…

We have the sauce back. Accept the sauce. Get out of dream world and root for what we got.

I mean this is the best defense we’ve had. If Carr couldn’t win a couple playoff games with this, we would have spent the off-season offloading players again to pay for Carr.

Right now all we have to do is get rid of the Jimmy G contract and we can pay JJ etc.

I think with a decent coach, we were a playoff team last year, and might be looking to build on it this year and really be a contender.

Carr is a better option than what we have right now. But I think it was time. McDaniels obviously sucked ass but we saw Derek Carr be ultra-mid for several seasons. Go take a look at the Saints sub right now. They’re going through the stages of Carr debate as we speak.

Agreed. He was at his ceiling. They should have just rode with Stidham this year with an eye on drafting a QB in the deeper pool this year since it was too costly to move up to get Young or Stroud last year. Now we’re stuck with Jimmy G as a back up or releasing and having a big dead cap hit. Either way, should draft a QB this spring even if AOC plays great as need competition and it’s a deep QB pool so good options will be available even without a top pick and some decent ones in 2nd and 3rd round if there’s another position need we can’t pass up in the first.

So funny to me how they are literally torn at the seams just like raiders fans when it comes to Carr. Happy to not have that issue anymore.
